tl;dr / Download & Run this to help get rid of Scientology Spam on Craigslist.[/b] [li] RAR www.megaupload.com/?d=RFERJ436 Version 1.0 (assumed) [/li][li] ZIP fairgamestop.org/downloads/ClearCraig.zip Version 1.1 (updated dat) [/li][/ul] from forums.whyweprotest.net/12-active-projects/project-clearcraig-52083/#post985331It's not easy flagging 100+ ads in your local area when the Scilons are spamming their garbage on CL... so I made a tool that should make this a little easier.
It's fairly idiot proof. If there are posts that this tool isn't picking up, please post them here and I'll do my best to update the app/config file.
You'll notice there is a hash code at the top of the Dat file. I don't want to be responsible for yet another script kiddie tool, thus I'll be updating the Dat file and posting the most up to date Dat in this OP.
The app essentially runs a search on a string (or multiple strings) given a specific CL link, and flags all results as prohibited. When running the app, you can select a specific CL to scan, or you can select 'All' which will scan all CLs in the list. It also takes arguments so you don't have to go through the entry selection list. So if you wanted, you could create a shortcut that would call 'ClearCraig.exe a' (running a search through all entries) and run it at windows startup. To run ClearCraig on an older Windows (98/ME), see this post.

It's been suggested to change your IP number if you run this more than once a day, so as not to look like the same person repeating the flag. Some will be able to do this easily, some not. It really depends on your ISP company's set-up. Some ISPs assign you an IP number dynamically, from a block or pool of numbers. To test your set-up: - retrieve your IP number at findmyip.org and make note of the number.
- leave pc/browser the way it is and power-down your ISPs internet router* for about 15 sec.(simulate a local power outage)
- *(not necessarily your household router. If at the end of the test your number doesn't change, check further upstream for an additional router)
- power router back-up, and allow it to establish a connection.
- reload findmyip.org page in browser.
- Number changed? You're good to go.
- Number didn't change? Check for another router further upstream. Also more info at how to change my ip number.
